About 25,000 counting personnel have been deployed by the
Election Commission to declare mandatory closure of EVMs from 78,799 polling
stations spread across 294 assembly constituencies. Counting began with postal
ballots, after which EVMs would be opened. Once the voting count in the EVM is
over, five VVPAT slabs in each assembly area will be matched with the voting
machines in the presence of counting supervisors.
- After seven rounds of polling on 542 parliamentary seats
