India will have to play with PAK in the World Cup
After the martyrdom of 40 CRPF martyrs in the Pulwama
attack, it is being demanded that India did not play World Cup match against
Pakistan in Manchester on June 16.
Dave Richardson, CEO of the International Cricket Council
(ICC), does not see any danger to India and Pakistan in the World Cup.
Richardson said that both the teams are bound by the ICC contract. After the
martyrdom of 40 CRPF martyrs in the Pulwama attack, it is being demanded that
India did not play World Cup match against Pakistan in Manchester on June 16.
Dave Richardson said, "For all the ICC tournaments, the
teams have signed the Partnership Agreement, under which they will have to play
all the matches of the tournament. If they do not do that, then the other team
will be given points according to the conditions of play.
After the terrorist attack in Pulwama, there is a demand
that India did not play World Cup match against Pakistan in June 16 in
Manchester. The administrators' committee, operating in Indian cricket, also
wrote a letter to the ICC asking them to boycott the countries covering
terrorism.
The Indian team also wore the special cap of the army to pay
homage to the martyrs of Pulwama during the third ODI against Australia in
Ranchi. Along with this, the entire match fee was given to the National Defense
Fund.
Pakistan protested against it and wrote a letter to the ICC
accusing it of politicizing the game on India. The ICC however said that the
Indian board had already taken permission and there was no politics behind it.
Richardson, CEO of the International Cricket Council (ICC),
said, "He was allowed in one case because his motive was to collect money
for the families of those jawans. The ICC has been keeping the Games separate
from politics.
Asked about the ICC role in the restoration of bilateral
cricket between India and Pakistan, the CEO of the International Cricket
Council (ICC) said that it depends on the board.
