Rahul Gandhi's mission North-east, Congress targets to win
20 out of 25 seats
Congress President Rahul Gandhi has set a target to win 20
out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. With the issue of employment
crisis, the problem of farmers and the issue of corruption, Rahul Gandhi has
adopted a strategy to get back his lost base.
In the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, the Congress has begun
to regain its lost land in the Northeast. Congress President Rahul Gandhi has
set a target to win 20 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. Congress has
formed a strategy to achieve its target in the Northeast with the help of three
different issues. Now to see how successful Rahul's North-Eastern mission is.
Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday held a meeting with the leaders of
the North-Eastern states after the rally in Assam and formed a strategy for the
return of the Congress. While addressing the Congress and District unit heads
of all North Eastern States, Rahul said that the party will focus on three to
four major issues, including employment crisis, problem of farmers and
corruption, while contesting elections in the region.
Congress president said that Congress party is going to win
the 2019 election. This is reality and no one can stop it. He said that I am
expecting more than 20 seats from the Congress party in the North-East, nothing
less than that. Although I believe you should try to win 22 seats.
Let us know that in 2014, the Congress got only eight seats
in the North-East. There were three seats in Assam, two in Manipur and one each
in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Mizoram. While the BJP won seven Lok Sabha
seats in Assam and one seat in Arunachal Pradesh, the Union Home Minister Kiran
Rijiju is represented by him.
Rahul Gandhi said that after winning the Lok Sabha election,
the Congress members should work on bringing the party back to power in all the
states where it was "wrongly" excluded. He said that Congress will
contest three-four issues in India and the North-East. There is a citizenship
bill in it. Congress's stand is clear that we oppose this bill. The Congress
party stood with the Northeast and barred the bill from coming to the Rajya
Sabha.
The Congress President criticized the government for not
implementing the NRC's correct implementation and said that the crisis of
employment is a big issue. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not
worried and he is not interested in solving the problems of the people. We want
to make the Northeast the center of education.
In fact, there was a stronghold of the Congress in the
North-Eastern era, but after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP has managed to
increase its base in this area. However, in the present time, the equality of
BJP seems to be worsening due to the Citizenship Amendment Bill and the PRC. In
this case, the Congress seems to be looking forward to its return.
