Rishad Premji, managing director of Wipro, IT company of
nearly 1.60 lakh crores has taken over.
On July 30, the legendary IT company Wipro owner Azim Premji
retired as Executive Chairman and Managing Director. After the retirement of
Azim Premji, his son Rishad took over the command of nearly Rs 1.60 lakh crore
Wipro. Rishad will remain Wipro's Executive Chairman and Managing Director for
the next 5 years. However, Azim Premji will remain connected with Wipro as a
non-executive director and founder chairman.
Who is rishad
Rishad's first identity is as the son of Azim Premji. Rishad
has taught MBA from Howard Business School and graduation in Economics from
Wesleyan University of America. Along with that, Rishad has also done special
courses from London School of Economics.
Wipro connected in 2007
Rishad was associated with Wipro in the year 2007. Here he
started work on Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs. Prior to joining
Wipro, he was working in the Bev Company London. Apart from this, Rishad has
also worked with GE Capital. Rishad is also looking at works related to social
and education being run by Wipro. Here, the World Economic Forum honored Rishad
as the Young Global Leader in 2014. Rishad was also the Chairman of IT
companies NASSCOM.
