Petrol and diesel are expensive after the first strike of
the Modi government's budget on the common man
On Friday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced
to increase excise duty and road infrastructure cess at the rate of Rs 2 per
liter on petrol and diesel during the budget speech. The government had claimed
that this increase would generate 28,000 crore revenue from the government
treasury.
After the cess of petrol and diesel in the budget, people
have got the first sting of inflation. Petrol has been costlier by Rs 2.50 per
liter and diesel 2.30 paise per liter in the country today. On Friday, Finance
Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced to increase excise duty and road
infrastructure cess at the rate of Rs 2 per liter on petrol and diesel during
the budget speech. The government had claimed that this increase would generate
28,000 crore revenue from the government treasury.

of the country.
Delhi
First thing is Delhi Delhi. On July 5, the price of petrol
in Delhi was 70 rupees 91 paise. Today the price of petrol has increased to 72
rupees 96 paise per liter.
On July 5, diesel prices in Delhi were 64 rupees 33 paise
per liter. Now after the hike, diesel prices have gone up by 66 rupees to 69
paise.
Mumbai
Prices of petrol in Mumbai, the country's financial capital,
have increased to 78 rupees, 57 paise per liter. On July 5, the price of petrol
was 76 rupees and 15 paise.
Diesel prices have also increased. Now, diesel is selling 69
rupees in 90 paise per liter in Mumbai. On Friday, the price of diesel was 67
rupees 40 paise per liter.
Kolkata
After the announcement of cess in the budget, the price of
petrol in Kolkata has gone up to 75 rupees and 15 paise per liter. Prior to the
increase, one liter petrol was priced at Rs 72 per 75 paise a liter.
Talking about the price of diesel, now the price of one
liter diesel has gone up to 68 rupees 59 paise, before the price of diesel was
66 rupees 23 paise.
Chennai
People in Chennai also have a sting of inflation in Tamil
Nadu capital. The price of one liter petrol has increased to 75 rupees and 76
paise here. On July 5, the price was 73 rupees and 19 paise. Diesel prices have
also increased. In Chennai, one liters of diesel is now getting 70 rupees in 48
paise, whereas before the increase, its price was 67 rupees. 96 paise.
