Advisory issued by Indian Army for joining the Whatsapp
Group
The army headquarters had recently instructed that the
members involved in the social media groups should not be included in such
groups, unknown number of faces or members not personally know.
The Indian Army has issued advisories for their personnel to
be active on the social media platform, especially the Whitespace Group.
Identifying members on whatsapp group is still a big challenge in itself.
Sources linked to the army have said that the information shared on the
Whataspe Group is being looked at by foreign agencies, who are in danger of
being leaked. Therefore, the use of whatsapp is being used by the army
personnel.
The security agencies can set up propaganda of these leaks.

An official said, "Security on Whatsapp is a serious
issue in itself. People can be identified in other places.
It has been observed on different social media sites that
young people have been trapped in Honey Trap from where wrong information is
shared under the strategy. In many cases important information is also shared
through Whatsapp. The risk of trapping new recruits in the Honey Trap is even
more.
In this way, the Indian army is working on a belligerent
information welfare section, which will monitor the groups where the wrong
information is shared. The Army is preparing this plan to deal with terrorism.
An expert can be deployed in the name of social media warrior who can be
appointed on contract basis.
