After testing in many laboratories of the country, samples of 33 drugs have failed. These medicines are used in the body to treat all kinds of diseases and pain.

Samples of 33 medicines used in the treatment of various diseases have failed in the investigation. After which the Central Drugs Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) has directed the firm companies to remove these drugs from the market. This government institute, which monitors the quality of drugs, has alerted the list of all 33 medicines in the alert issued for May 2019.


These medicines are made in factories located in states like Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam, Puducherry. These medicines have failed on standards during testing in the regional laboratories of the states from the central to the state. A total of 821 samples were taken from different states for the investigation. In which 788 medicines were found to be standard.

Paracetamol 500 mg tablets, which are used in light fever and pain, have also failed in the investigation. Instructions have been issued to remove the batch number CT 70154 from Omega Biotech, Dehradun, immediately from the market. The expiry date of this drug was also till May 2019. This drug was found in Guwahati's lab after being tested underneath.


Phosphate tablet (2.5 mg) of the primychine brand used to treat malaria has also failed. Instructions have been issued to remove the batch number T-17648 from the market. The expiry date of this drug was in July 2020. However, during the investigation in the Regional Drug Testing Laboratory (RDTL) of Chandigarh, this drug was found to be Substandard prematurely.




Similarly, sample of chloramphenicol and dexamethasone sodium eye drops used in the treatment of eyes also failed. The batch number of this drug is Poly-07. The cotidie capsule of the well-known Sipala company also failed. The drug was to be expired by June 2020. But before the investigation, the medicines got very bad.


The tablet Lopermamide Hydrochloride is used in the treatment of diarrhea. The expiry date of this drug in BT 391 of Batch number in Himachal Pradesh was July 2020. Medicines found underneath found in the lab in Chandigarh Lab. Similarly, a major drug related to women also failed. The name is Misoprostol. It is used to prevent stomach ulcers in order to prevent bleeding with childbirth or abortion.

Artesunate injection 500 mg, Telmisartan tablets, Ofloxacin tablets, chlorpheniramine maleate, Parazim- 20, Ramipril tablets, Fluconazole tablets, Amlodipine tablets 10 mg, Calcium and Vitamin d 3 tablets, Erythromycin stearate tablets 250 mg, Misoprostol Tablets 200 mcg
