Maruti's popular Dzire now has so much expensive, new safety
features, came in the BS-6 engine
Maruti Suzuki has updated the DZire according to the new
safety norms applicable to July 1, 2019. With this update the prices of this
car have also increased.
Maruti Suzuki has updated its highly popular compact sedan
Dzire according to the latest safety norms being implemented from July 1, 2019.
In all the variants of Dzire, standard now will be seat-belt reminder, speed
alert system and rear parking sensor. Third Generation Dzire was launched in
2017, then it was standardized ABS and dual-airbags.
Along with this, Maruti made Dzire's 83hp, 1.2-liter K12B
petrol engine as BS6-compliant. The company has announced that, before the
implementation of the new Emission Norms on April 1, 2020, the company's models
will be BS6-compliant. Apart from Petrol Dzire, the petrol-engine variants of
2019 Alto, Baleno, Wagon R and Swift are already BS6-compliant.
At present, there has been no change in Dzire's 1.3-liter
DDiS diesel engine and will remain the same as before. Although it will be
closed by the end of the year. This information is already public that Maruti
will completely stop selling diesel-engine cars by 2020.
After the new update, the prices of Dzire diesel variants
have been marginally higher at Rs 3,000, while the petrol variants have now
become expensive up to Rs 13,000. Just like before, Dzire will be available
with both petrol and diesel variants manual and AMT gearbox.

The company had recently informed that since the launch of the first generation
model in 2008, Dzire has sold over 19 million units so far.
